Attorney General William Barr is about to deliver President Donald Trump arguably the biggest victory of the year.
After spending years pushing absurd charges that Trump colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election, Democrats had to watch in horror as Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded that there was no collusion and that Trump was innocent.
Now, Trump is giving Barr the green light to declassify documents related to the the Russia probe and Obama’s FBI spying on his campaign.
Barr has also appointed a special counsel of his own to dig into whether any laws were broken by the Obama administration to go after Trump.
And the result could be the biggest victory that Trump may have all year.
Here’s more from The Daily Caller:
President Donald Trump has directed the heads of several government agencies to cooperate with Attorney General William Barr’s investigation of the origins of the Russia probe.
In a memo sent out Thursday, Trump also authorized Barr to declassify documents related to the Russia investigation.
The memo grants Barr the authority to “declassify, downgrade, or direct the declassification or downgrading of information or intelligence” related to the Russia probe as he sees fit.
Barr has said that he is investigating whether government agencies improperly surveilled members of the Trump campaign. In testimony to Congress, Barr has asserted that the FBI and other agencies spied on the campaign by using informants and surveillance warrants.
Democrats obviously believed they could wreck Trump’s presidency by tying him up in an endless investigations into his campaign.
But they were wrong — and Barr has been busy taking action to expose how dirty the Democrats have been playing.
Barr has been busy lately trying to get to the bottom of the Russia hoax and how this all happened.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Barr appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to investigate how the Russia witch hunt began and whether the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016 was legal.
Last month, Barr put the final nail in the collusion coffin and reiterated countless times that Robert Mueller found no evidence that Trump, his campaign, or any American colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
Barr said he consulted with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and they both determined there was no evidence to charge Trump with obstructing justice in the Russia probe.
The president has been completely vindicated after the two-year Russia witch hunt.
Barr and Mueller have made it clear that there is no evidence of collusion or obstruction.
But now the tables have turned — and Barr is honoring his pledge to investigate those who started the Russia witch hunt.
Some Obama officials are likely very worried about what Barr is doing and what could be revealed to the American people.
