Kirsters Baish’s Opinion| California Governor Gavin Newsom has reportedly pardoned multiple illegal immigrants who were facing deportation. According to DavidHarrisJr.com, two of those illegal aliens “had pending deportation orders against them. The pardoned had committed such crimes from solicitation of murder to grand theft.”
These people are dangerous… they’ve proved it through their actions. Why don’t the Democrats seem to care that these people could soon become killers? On average, 4,200 American citizens lose their lives to illegal aliens annually. Another 78,000 Americans are killed by drugs brought into the country through Mexico every year.
Two felons were pardoned for crimes that made them eligible for deportation, from solicitation of murder to grand theft. All of those granted clemency had already served their prison terms for their crimes.“By granting these pardons to people who are transforming their lives,” read a statement from the governor’s office, “the Governor is seeking to remove barriers to employment and public service, restore civic rights and responsibilities and prevent unjust collateral consequences of conviction.”
Both of the felons who were set for deportation were Cambodian refugees who were brought into the country legally, but committed gang-related crimes later.
The governor compared the president to anti-immigrant “demagogues” who passed the federal Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, a law that targeted a community for exclusion from immigration. He made the comments while speaking to the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association ahead of the pardons.
The Asian Law Caucus celebrated the announcement from Newsom.
“We are deeply grateful to Governor Newsom for recognizing the plight of refugees who are being targeted by the Trump administration and for acting with compassion and leadership to stop their deportations,” a statement from Executive Director Aarti Kohli read.
The Sacramento Bee had more on the illegals who were pardoned by the California Democrat. “Two Cambodian refugees facing deportation are among the first people Gov. Gavin Newsom is pardoning, his office announced Monday. Kang Hen and Hay Hov were both brought to the U.S. lawfully as children fleeing genocide in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge regime and were later convicted of gang-related crimes when they were young men,” the Bee reports.
Both of the men pardoned by Newsom had been threatened with deportation earlier in the year. According to the Bee, Newsom’s pardons may help the immigrants make their argument not to be deported back to Cambodia.
The Bee explains, “Newsom’s predecessor Jerry Brown pardoned five Cambodian refugees last year as the Trump administration ramped up its deportations of Asian immigrants, according to the governor’s office.”Loading…Unbelievable.
